Giuseppe SPEZIALE was born on February 14, 1968, in Cerignola (FG). Originally from Puglia, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Rome, from 1986 to 1992, with subsequent specialization in Cardiac Surgery at the "La Sapienza" University, also in Rome (RM), from 1992. to 1997.

Italian native speaker, he speaks and writes English as a second language.

In the following years he became coordinator of "GVM Care & Research" cardiac surgery, a position he still holds since 2013. Since 2008, he has been director of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at Anthea Hospital in Bari and City of Lecce Hospital, as well as director of the Department of Cardiac Surgery of the 'Santa Maria' Hospital in Bari, from 2016 to today.

Since 2011 he has held the position of vice president of "GVM Care & Research". In the years 2005/2009 he was Professor of Medicine at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" and at the University of Ferrara.

He worked, in the years 1995/97 and 2006 at various centers in the United States.

AATS member from 2019 to today; vice president of AOIP Puglia in the three-year period 2018-2021; Co-founder "Mitral Academy" since 2016; member of some US companies since 1995; and scientific director "AIC Onlus" from 2004 to today.

Coordinator of some health newspapers, from 1995 and 1999 to date. He has published n. 112 between articles and magazines, on the heart; he participated in n. 76 national and international congresses; has published no. 6 personal books, about the heart and about patients.
